Our Valentine’s Day Wishlist
Besma Whayeb
No matter who you’re celebrating love with this year, we’ve got a special little something for you in our Valentine’s Day wishlist. Show yourself – and the planet – some love with these sustainable yet succulent treats!
Love Cocoa Chocolates
Chocolate and love go hand in hand, and our top pick for V Day has to be Love Cocoa. This B-Corp produces ethically-made chocolate that tastes divine, and looks even better. We first covered them in our guide to the hottest sustainable food and drinks brands, and we’re back to marvel at their Valentine’s Day boxes. Fingers crossed these turn up at the Sustainably Influenced office…
Roses by Gardenia
Nothing says ‘Be My Valentine’ like a bunch of pretty pink roses. This bunch, £60 at Gardenia of London, features beautiful, large-headed roses, ethically sourced and locally made in London. Not only is Gardenia a London Living Wage employer, they are also zero waste, and provide 100% home compostable and recyclable packaging. For more UK ethical flowers, check out our guide to sustainable florists.
Two Glasses of Red
For low-intervention wines, we often turn to Forest Wines and their hand curated selections. For Valentine’s Day, we’ll be drinking La Voluta Bambolina, an organic, low sulphite, vegan red wine that translates as “the wanted baby doll”. Sexy and organic? We’re in.
Eternally Friends Necklace
While we love a love-heart necklace for Valentine’s, we were especially taken with Wild Fawn Jewellery’s Eternally Friends Pendant. With a trio of amis etched beautifully on the surface, and the possibility to engrave a sweet message or set of initials, it’s a delicate way to celebrate long-lasting friendship.
Kiss Me Coffee
One of our favourite places for a coffee date has to be Kiss The Hippo, London’s first carbon-negative coffee shop. Whether you set up a coffee date in-store, or order some of their coffee pods that also plant a tree, we can guarantee great coffee. And with kissing already suggested in the name, do we have to really join the dots…?
The Ultimate Slow Food Date
And if you’re looking for a good date night in London, check out our favourite sustainable restaurants. Our top pick? Silo. This zero-waste restaurant creates beautiful dishes with seasonal food, making for a really meaningful dining experience.
