How Our Editors Are Styling This Cult Piece From Jigsaw This Autumn
Bianca Alleyne
According to our editors, this is the coat you’ll still be wearing on repeat this autumn.
Coat season is here and our team is not messing around. Too often they’ve been caught out after buying a coat that seemed incredible but when you actually wear it, it just doesn’t hold up. Buying a great coat often feels like a gamble rather than an investment.
The Jigsaw Wool Maxi City Coat is the real thing. Pure wool, fully lined and beautifully cut. Most maxi coats get this wrong. They’re either too voluminous or they hit at that weird awkward length where your legs look two miles long and not in a good way. This one actually works with most body shapes because the proportions are considered without being fussy.
The colour is the real star. It comes in a deep nay and khaki, we opted for the latter. Its a warm taupe shade that does what neutrals are supposed to do.
The structure is important. This isn’t a draped coat. It has a spine to it. You can wear it open and it still looks like a coat and not just a piece of fabric you’re draped over you.
Our verdict: This is a coat you’ll reach for everyday as the weather changes, because not only is it super stylish, but it is actually functional.
