How Our Editors Are Layering In HUSH's New Season Jackets
Bianca Alleyne
Our team road tests 3 pieces from the HUSH autumn collection.
Autumn wardrobe reboots don’t have to mean starting from scratch. Sometimes it’s about rediscovering what actually works, then building on it. A good jacket does that; and there are some GREAT ones out already. A good jacket is the anchor piece that carries your entire outfit through the season. Australian label HUSH gets this. Their new-in outerwear edits are built on the idea that investment pieces should feel effortless and considered.
We asked our editors how they’re styling three pieces from the new collection this autumn.
The Nerina is the most gorgeous brown leather with a soft, lived-in quality that gets better the more you wear it. Alice reaches for it as her go-to layering piece, wearing it over a lightweight knot or long-sleeved t-shirt or on top of knitwear on cooler days. The cut has real spaciousness to it so it moves with you. She’s styling it oversized with tailored trousers for Frieze season, then swapping down to straight jeans and low leather shoes when she wants something between weekday and weekend.
Sofia picked the Rix in antler (it also comes in a blue and brown check) We loved the shade of taupe; it just sits between brown and grey and works with almost everything already in her rotation. Pure wool, unlined, with a clean minimal cut that could read as corporate but instead just feels very cool. The style is so relaxed that you can wear this jacket with pretty much anything; she has gone for a simple jeans and tee combo with Tabis and a printed bag to elevate the look.
Alice Wears: Simeron Double-Faced Wool Check Blazer
Alice loves that the Simeron works both as a standalone piece and layered when the weather turns sharper (it even comes with a detachable scarf) The double-facing gives it real structure without any weight, meaning it is really versatile. That matters now when most of us are dreading the thought of heavy outerwear. We love the mix of the grey tones and browns here for a very simple, yet put together every day look.
