As an Editor Who’s in the Tub Year-Round, These Are the Luxury Bath Products I Always Reach For

Few things in life bring me as much joy as a bath. I covet them as much in the heat of June as I do in the dark nights of November. More than simply an act of washing, they feel like a ritual—succour for my mind and body. I’m a believer that there are very few things in life that a hot soak can’t fix, and at the very least, you’ll always feel a lot better after.

As with any ritual, tools play a central role. In this case, I rely on a rotation of products that help curate a sense of calm and self-devotion. Below, take a browse through my current bathing roster that have earned an enduring spot on the corners of my tub.

If there was ever a bathing product that defined luxury, then this is it. Scented with Commune’s signature woody fragrance, these salts transform any tub into a spa-like oasis. Expensive? Oh yes. But a little goes a long way, and the branding is simply stunning.

I am no stranger to waxing lyrical about this particular scrub. It’s simply the best I’ve tried. The consistency of the granule paste is perfect—chunky enough to feel like it’s doing something, but not too much so that it feels overly abrasive or drying to the skin. I reach for this weekly to keep my body feeling dolphin-smooth.

What is a bath, truly, without the OG? This bubble melt had the beauty world in a chokehold through the 2010s, and it holds up with as much strength today. Plus, using the little applicator never gets old.

I’m a big fan of adding oil to a bath. Honestly, it’s a great lazy girl hack to avoid a full-body moisturising session after a long day. A few drops of this oil from Tyler Aromatherapy not only leaves my skin feeling silky smooth, but also makes my bathroom smell like a bakery with a dedicated passion for cinnamon buns.

I’ve tried many a body wash in my time, but this pick from Saltair is truly up there with the best. Not only does it lather beautifully, but it also creates the warmest, woody scent that lingers even beyond the tub. Paired with the brand’s nourishing body butter after? A match made in heaven.

Let’s talk a little more about body butter while we’re here, because the post-bath rituals are almost as important as being in the tub itself. If you’re anything like me, you like your baths *hot* hot.

While this is blissful in the moment, it’s potentially harsh on the body after, so I take all of the moisturising precautions to support my skin barrier. My body butter of choice of late is this one from Dibia. Utterly indulgent in consistency and scent, it’s an essential. I’ll stock up on time and again.

You’re never too old for bubble bath—it just might get a little more luxe along the way. The Nordic Wilds scent is my favourite of the Space NK own-brand range. It’s fresh, calming, and what I imagine bathing in a remote woodland stream feels like.

Baths are the self-care ritual I truly go hard with. If the works aren’t there (candle lit and all), don’t get me involved. This scent from Solei Studios has found its way into the corner of my tub lately, and the notes of sandalwood, amber and black pepper have just the right balance of relaxation and stimulation.

A linen bathrobe is a luxury I think we all deserve in this lifetime, and without fail, I’ll always recommend Deiji Studios. My go-to brand for all things linen, their curated selections of robes are divine. Light and airy in the winter, yet still warm enough through winter. They also have pockets—big win.
